There’s a story that my Mother tells that everyone should hear
about an experience she had that shook her to the core.
So listen as I tell you now what everyone should know:
there is a fearful place called hell where many people go.
She had an operation and it didn't go too well
-there were some complications and into death she fell.
She came out of her body and looked down upon herself
-she saw the surgeon and his team trying to save her life.
Then she was taken to a place that chills beyond compare
-a dark and evil realm that filled her heart with fear
and the place where she was headed she could not control
-she fearfully concluded she was on her way to hell.
She cried out to the God who she hadn't really known
“Oh God, Oh God, please save me, your mercy please me show”
and by the grace of God she opened up her eyes
and found herself in hospital clad with tubes and wires.
The surgeon's team had fought so hard to resuscitate
-she'd been dead for some time but thank God they weren't too late
and she returned to tell the tale to her local priest
-he said that everything was fine - she'd only had a dream
-but it was much too real for her - too real to deny
-she carried on her life in fear - especially to die.
For many years she searched for truth until one great day,
she found Christ and gave her life to him - the one who saves!
She was born again that day and finally realised
the only way to heaven is through Our Lord the Christ
-he spoke of this himself in John 14 verse 6
-through relationship with Jesus her fear of death is fixed!
The religion that she’d followed Had never made it clear
that eternal life can only come through the salvation prayer -
“Jesus, I am sorry that I’ve sinned against you Lord.
Now I turn from sin to follow you and will obey your word.
Thank you that you died and rose again for me
and shed your blood to cleanse my sin - thank you I am washed clean.”
